# How to join a waitlist remotely

Step-by-step guidance for joining a restaurant, lounge or attraction waitlist before you arrive, and what to do if the link doesn't work.

Joining a queue before you arrive is usually a matter of finding the right link and filling in a short form. The exact steps depend on the provider behind the queue, but the pattern is consistent enough to walk through generally.

## 1. Find the real join link

Search engines and map apps sometimes surface an outdated or unofficial link. Queue Ahead's job is to keep a verified, currently-live join link per venue — check the "last verified" date on a queue page before relying on it for something time-sensitive.

## 2. Check the remote-joinability label

If a queue is marked "anywhere", you can join from home, the airport, or the next city over. If it's marked "within X km" or "near venue", the join form may reject you (or silently fail) until you're physically close enough — this is usually enforced by the venue's own system, not something Queue Ahead can bypass or should try to.

## 3. Fill in your details and watch for the confirmation

Most systems ask for a name, phone number or email, and party size. You'll typically get a text or push notification when you're near the front — read it carefully, because many systems have a short grace period (sometimes as little as a few minutes) before your spot is released.

## If the link doesn't work

Links break for a few common reasons: the queue closed for the day, the provider changed its URL pattern, or (for rotating-link systems) today's link hasn't been picked up yet. Use the "Link broken" button on the queue page to flag it — that feeds directly into Queue Ahead's verification data and helps the next person avoid a dead link.
