# About Queue Ahead

Queue Ahead is a search engine for real-world virtual queues, waitlists and online check-ins. If a restaurant, airport lounge, attraction, museum, salon or government office lets you join a line before you get there, we try to index the link — so you can find the queue before you're standing in it.

## How the data works

Queue Ahead never invents a wait time. Every number you see comes from one of three places:

- The venue's own queueing system — a live feed from providers like Yelp Waitlist, Dojo or Waitwhile
- queue-times.com, for theme park ride and park wait times — attributed as "Powered by Queue-Times.com" wherever it's shown
- The community — a wait report or verification submitted by someone who's actually there

## The honesty rule

If we don't have real data for a venue, we say so — we show it as unknown rather than guessing at a "typical" wait. A queue only shows a live wait time when we have one.

## How to contribute

Anyone can submit a new queue link from /submit, verify that an existing queue link still works, or report the wait time you're currently seeing. Contributions build your public reputation and appear on the /leaderboard. If a venue you want isn't listed yet, ask for it at /requests and others can vote it up.
